Heres a custom order I took at the recent Aussie Knifemaker's Guild show. Simple enough to make in just a few short hours, so I got this completed ahead of other custom orders.

Its a big one - 8-1/4inch blade of 15N20 (old crosscut saw) convex ground with a Scotchbrite finish for working. Mortised construction handle of "natural" canvas Micarta that came up such a horrible pus-yellow colour that I double dyed it with leather dye to give it the shade you see in the pics. The blade shape was the result of some tweaking to engineer the amount of flex the way the customer wanted it. The first 3 inches is relatively stiff, while the front 5inches will flex nicely to take out some neat fillets. The open bottom Kydex sheath has a belt dangler setup for easy use.

Its currently with its new owner going through some field testing. Feedback appreciated from you guys too. Cheers. Jason.

Sorry, but you're gonna have to rename that one. Nothing you have ever made could be considered ugly. I like that knife a lot. I think it would be a great design for a non flexible version too.

Gotta agree with Danbo......man, that is excellent work and heat-treat......save me a couple big ol' filets of something!!! :D

You missed the mark badly with that one. It's not ugly at all -- try harder next time. :D

Once again, another beautiful blade --

That is a great lookingf, practical design. Looks just plain awesome to me. I'll bet it would make a wicked cutter in the kitchen too. Great work. Fillet knives like this just rock!!
