Hey guys, a buddy of mine has a few knives left from when he had a gun store years ago, and this particular one got my attention. He says it's #1 of 30 made by Mel Pardue, and the only one in that series with oosik handle scales. It says "#001 Pardue" on the blade. Anyone know something about this knife?

I,ve followed Mel's knives back in the 90's and they were more modern than this one. I would say this is a very early Pardue.

Yea, my buddy says he got it from Mel Pardue in the late 80's, and that this was from a 30-knife run from 1981.

First of all that's a great piece and Mel has a website, contact him and I'm sure he can tell you more about it.

Awesome piece! I researched a lot of Mel's work when I was first getting into knives because of his affiliation with Benchmade and I've never seen anything like it.

I think my buddy wants to sell it. I do like Persian blades, but I'm not a backlock fan so much.

Always liked Mel's knives and my second custom knife ever was a model B of his. But I am more drawn to his style hes been doing over the last ten years or so. But no, I don't know anything about that knife. :)

Sorry if I am hi-jacking this thread but figured I'd show pictures.

He also made me my first sole authorship custom damascus knife.. Which opened up alot of doors.
