Mel Pardue Auto

Does anyone have any info on a Mel Pardue Auto called the AKA 8? I traded for one, sight unseen, and would like to find out a little more about it. I was told that it has a g-10 handle, with a red firing button, blade is double ground, w/ AKA 8 on it. Blade length is a little under 3". Any info, especially a pic would be great.

I just happened to see one the other day. The story, as I understood it, is that when the guild members started to get interested in making autos, the Guild did not want them putting their names on the pieces, so the maker's came up with Also Known As (AKA). Mr. Pardue is #8 of the conspirators. My additional thought on the subject is that some maker's didn't want their names on the auto's for liability issues. I don't have a pic, though.

I did receive the knife today. I spoke with Mel, and he said that an AKA 8 should have a rubber insert in the handle, which mine dosen't. He told me that it might be an early Prototype. He told me that I could send it to him to look at, since he didn't remember making any without the insert off the top of his head. Mine looks nothing like this, except for the firing button, and the fact that mine has AKA 8 engraved on the blade. If anyone knows anymore about these, feel free to drop me a line
