Melted blade question

OK, I know I may get a little jab for passing on the NMFBM , but for those that have them, has anyone tried using their's with a firesteel yet? I'm just wondering how the rounded edges perform as compared with the usual squared-off edges.

A rounded edge will not bite into a firesteel and create sparks. You'll need to use the edge or if 1 exists a false edge for firesteel use now. Better than any spine edge edge though is a small piece of old hacksaw blade. I tie one off with all my firesteels and they work better than any other striker I have ever tried

To get a good spark off of a firesteel with the game warden I use, I had to take a file to spine (perpendicular to the blade) to make the corner nice and sharp. Works great. The NM treatment would make it a no-go, but so far we've only seen the NM treatment on blades too large for using on a firesteel IMO.
