Alright I upgraded/Subsribed to a Gold Membership on this past Friday. How Long does it take before the Gold Membership is active?

Oh BTW for knife content, Does anyone remember the Chris Reeves Twist Lock Folder, (ala Opinel style lock), that was featured in the Knives 89' or 90',(awesome and unusual knife for CRK) I'm looking for a picture of one:D

It looks like you have been upgraded already.

The Chris Reeve knife you are interested in was called the Helix. I have a picture that was sent to me in 1991 by Chris, of a couple of these knives. I am not sure if this picture will scan well, it is pretty dark, but I will try tomorrow and if it works I will post it here.

Sweet!! Mine just got upgraded today too...

About the Chris Reeve knife...why did they stop making them? Was it because people didn't really like the lock too much?

I'm not really sure why they stopped making them, but I have a Cold Steel Twist Lock and the lock is so tough that I am able to use the knife like a machete to cut down 2"-3" trees.

That "Twist Lock" looks just like a "Picnic Knife" I saw at a gift shop this weekend. The one I saw had a wooden handle and some kind of stamped metal collar. It was tough to open (I gave up). The blade appeared to be a clip point.

I think the one you're referring to, is the Opinel. They have been around a looooooooong time, and are very popular in parts of Europe. :D

Sorry, it slipped out...:o

I've tried twice to become a gold member. I have no idea why I'm not one yet. :(

-----edit-----
lol @ Bobby :)

Have you received an email with a confirmation number for your order? If not you should give 1SKS a call on their toll free number at 1.866.289.1757, or if you want to save them the charge you can call 1.904.880.3322. They can take your order for a Gold membership directly over the phone.

Hi Keith,

Actually I called them yesterday and they said my address and my credit card didn't match up, so they tried my address a few different ways (its a bit complicated) and it still would not work (I don't keep my statements so I don't know what that card company is using for my address.) so I told them I'd just sign up again. I did earlier today and I have yet to recieve any email notification whatsoever (yea or nay) so I assume they haven't gotten around to looking at it yet. :(

Later,
John

Bobby haven't you ever had to cut your way through a Bonsai Forest?
