Is there, or are there any plans to offer, an alternative to PayPal for buying memberships?

You can use a regular credit card if you go to the PayPal screen you can click on the bottom to bypass.

That is still PayPal...it just doesn't require the "buyer" to have an account. I took it as an inquiry about whether other options might become available for those who have washed their hands of PayPal.

That is it, just looking for a payment process that does not go through them.

At this point the answer seems to be no, or at least I have not ever been able to find one. Maybe Spark will consider this, but I doubt he will want to take money orders(that seems like a bit of a hassle at this level).

Ok thanks. There are dozens of online payment processors these days, it wouldn't be necessary to resort to anything via snail mail.

Something to consider as PayPal has and continues to behave in a way that is disrespectful to what is likely a large number of users here. Continuing to patronize them is not a good long term plan.
