membership upgrade/prorate?

I recently purchased a Gold membership and then posted a 'for sale' thread that includes SAKs with pocket-clips attached as well as Buck Vantages with some scales swapped. A moderator evidently removed the thread:

Modded myself. I completely understand if that makes me a "craftsman" and so requires that level (at one time I did purchase that level but let it lapse), I just didn't get that from the wording in the rules. Makes me sad that my thread was removed instead of a Mod emailing me to tell me to upgrade my account and ask to have it pro-rated

KNIFEMAKER / CRAFTSMAN / SERVICE PROVIDER (hearafter referred to as "Knifemaker") - Knifemaker's are allowed to sell items that they have personally created or modified in the KnifeMaker For Sale forums, or their own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum. If you are a knifemaker or craftsman and would like your own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum, please contact us.
Note, if you pay for 3 years at once, you can have your very own subforum and you save a bit of cash rather than buying one year at a time. This might be an option for the seasoned and serious members.

PLATINUM or GOLD - Platinum or Gold members are allowed to post in any of the Individual For Sale or Trade forums. They may sell items in the For Sale By Individuals, and can list items for Trade as well. They cannot sell items they have made, for that you will require a Knifemaker / Craftsman / Service Provider membership, no exceptions.

Yes, knifemakers are "allowed to sell items that they have personally created or modified in the KnifeMaker For Sale forums, or their own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum", but that is not something that I am interested in.

I am selling production knives made by others than I have simply added a pocket-clip to, or production knives with different scales attached. Production knives with such customization are commonly sold in the "For Sale by Individuals" section - production knives with customized scales modded by the owner or a previous owner (e.g. micarta scales swapped for what they originally wore, scales dyed with RIT, scales with dremel/file marks, etc), with a custom pocket-clip, with a custom grind-job (whether or re-grind or a mirror polish, etc.), with a forced patina, with custom stand-offs installed, etc., etc.
These are not handmade knives or sheaths, etc. and I am not taking credit for making them. These are production knives. I don't make the knives, I don't make the clips, I don't make the scales, they are less customized than a lot of what you may see offered in sale threads. No where in the rules does it state that we are NOT ALLOWED to offer production knives with such minor modifications in the "For Sale by Individuals" section with a Gold membership. It would be nice to have that clarified, please.
