Been busy, but thought I would take a moment to squeeze in a few quick shots from Memorial Day morning.
Camping in the mountains down on our family farmland in Southern Oregon for the weekend. My wife and I “built” this little campground more than a few years ago, when these trees were only about 6' tall.
Rained hard all night on Saturday. Got a little sun on Sunday, though.
Boiling water for my oatmeal.
Yes, they are making s'mores, for breakfast. Yea, that's what I said!

Missed taking any photos of the fire build, but here is a shot of one of the fatwood chunks I was cutting curls from for the fire with with the 5.

Some of the spalting (fungal decay) on the face of one of the large Big leaf maple rounds I put around the fire pit.

Hopefully everyone recognizes this one; leaves-of-three....don't use it for butt-wipe!

Yep, poison oak, all greened up for spring. Kind of pretty...

Beautiful native iris. The blue ones are even more pretty; but I couldn't find one today.

Here is a leaves-of-three that is good to go.
Wild strawberries. Leaves make a nice mild bush tea (I usually mix it with chopped Ponderosa Pine or fir needles), and of course if you can find any berries in the late summer that the critters haven't beaten you to, they are amazing!

Grand fir green tips (new season's fresh growth), great for tea or nibbling; tastes like fir!

The Miner's lettuce is now flowering.

A very tiny native Nootka rose flower. Amazing scent.

Hope you had a safe Memorial Day!
