It's pretty easy in this country to take the freedoms we have for granted. We bicker amongst ourselves about politics, religion, race. Some trying to expand one set of rights while another group is formed to restrict another right. But wherever you come from in the country or wherever you come down on the issues, today is the day to remember that the freedoms that we have are ETRAORDINARY! They are unique in the world and in history.

Many (most?) of us Americans paid nothing for these freedoms. They were given to us because we were born here. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY CAME WITHOUT A COST Our freedom, the freedom you and I will enjoy when we wake up tomorrow was paid for with the blood of forefathers in the wars gone-bye for our country and the blood of our fellow country men and women today in Afganistan and around the world in this War on terrorism. The price of our freedom was paid for with the lives of our ancestors and of our fighting men and women of our military. And I for one, am eternally greatful and want to say again this year. THANK YOU!!! GOD BLESS YOUR SOULS, EVERYONE I only pray that i may live my life worthy of the gifts your sacrifice has bestowed on me.

I second that emotion! Many have fought and died to protect what we have and hold dear as well as the ideals set up by our founding fathers. They decided on something different than old King George had in mind and went for it. They all proved that the concept works, and there are now too many folks within and without trying to change that.

I have been serving the military for over 18 years now and don't regret it one bit. I am now an instructor (as are all NCO's) and try my best to impart my hard learned knowledge on the young troops that will eventually take my place.

On Memorial day, we all should take a moment to remember all that have fought and died before us.

Is there an Amen?

Thought so.:)

Have a great holiday,
Ed

Thanks guys! I think most vets will agree with me when I say, while it's not necessary, it is nice to hear now and then.

In my opinion, the best way for all Americans to say "thank you" is to enjoy, exercise, and value their rights. Many people take them for granted and seldom give any thought to them or why they exist.

Airborne!

TO THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED AND TO THOSE WHO CURRENTLY SERVE OUR NATION, THANK YOU; MAY YOU NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Well said Gentlemen.

From me and My family "Thank you to all the servicemen, past and present, that have put their lives on the line for our freedoms"

All the members of the armed services continue to be in my Thoughts and Prayers.

To those who use a music sharing program, check out John McDermott. Very appropriate music to listen to today. He put out a CD called "Remembrance." On its cover is the quote, "If ye break faith- we shall not sleep."

From me, from my wife, for the freedoms we all enjoy, thank you....

May your God watch over you.

Thank you and God bless all veterans and their families, especially those who paid for our freedom with their lives; we are a much better country because of you!

Great posts, I agree 100%. Lost both my Dad and an uncle this month, both WW2 vets. To all who gave,

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And may God hold you in the hollow of his hand
