Took some time today to hit the Rockies with the Mrs. Mapped out a 5 mile hike to a lake called Ouzel. Unfortunately, there was still waaay more snow than we bargained for. Decided we should've brought snow shoes, so we turned back at approx. 3.5 miles. Kinda bummed, but we still had a good time! Hope you enjoy the pics...
Long's Peak - 14,259 ft (4,346 m). Just one of Colorado's 54 14,000+ ft. peaks.
There's a young deer looking at you...can you spot it?
Just thought this one was cool.
I love these heavily wooded area's.
No shortage of water sources around here.
Ouzel falls. Massive waterfall, wanted to get a close-up of the Mrs. for size reference, but all the snow made it unsafe.
Obligatory Becker pic. That's me rockin' the BK2 with Moose made leather! Glad he makes them waterproof. I fell on my @$$ at least 3 times today!
To act as companion for the Campanion is the BK14
Lottsa snow still...weird.
This sign is a little over 5ft. tall...
Just another one I thought was cool...
Mrs. MikeyJ
Massive boulder.
I don't know if this is a fungus, or tumor, or what, but it's stuck to an Aspen.
Processed this pile with nothing but the BK2...
...just kiddin'! The Forestry Service goes through and takes care of some housekeeping every now and again. That was just one of their "piles".
Sorry to make this so long...
