I was in the Washington DC area for a 2 week seminar. Three of us decided to play tourist on the weekend. One of us suggested we stop by the Vietnam Memorial, which had recently opened. She had brought paper for rubbings.

Ten of her high school classmates were listed on the wall.

Big Ten Four!! I have been flying or displaying the American flag since 9-11. It never comes down. Just replaced with a new one.

FYI, you can get a high quality flag flown at the Capitol building for a reasonable price. Just visit your state's senator or house representative's site and search for "flag request". I had one flown on what would have been my son's 21st birthday, came with a certificate.
