Love the way Kanchhi is holding that Magnum, like it's not effort at all.
Bet she didn't hold that pose for long, but what a beautiful knife. Looks extremely well done.

And such a beast! It sings.

I don't know about the no effort at all. Notice how she's leaning backward for balance, and I sense a bit of strain around her mouth. That Magnum is a real beast, and it looks to be very front heavy.

18" chiruwa, with a wide belly, at only 24 ounces!
I hope that more are made like this, I think they would sell well.
This one looks great and is priced low.

I was so sad to see it already gone, it's exactly what I've been looking for! Will definitely buy when another one comes up, if I can catch it in time.

That wide belly will make it a good chopper. The angles are all right on that one, for a good connect with the target, and transfer of energy into the cut. It reminds me of my WWII. I like the lanyard holes too, which mine doesn't have.

Probably so in looking closer. She hides it pretty well. That's a beautiful knife.

I just received the 18 inch 24 ounce Amar Singh Thapa Knife by Lachhu (see picture above). It's a beautiful blade with a perfectly shaped horn handle.

There is one glitch: The weight is 34 ounces, not 24 ounces. That's actually good news for those of you who felt bad about missing out on a lightweight ASTK. The extra weight doesn't bother me because the knife is very well balanced. Also, I've always thought of the ASTK (like the less common Manakamana Special) as being a Sirupati on steroids. This one is definitely a good chopper, as well as having a deadly-looking profile.

The blade is "villager" style, which means it has a satin finish and if you hold it up to the light at a shallow angle you can just barely see some of the hammer marks. I like that. I never cease to be amazed at the high quality of HI kamis' forging. The handle on this one is highly polished with a couple of short hairline cracks that don't seem to really be cracks, just surface scratches. This was a great bargain at $95.

Congrats on your new baby! The horn handles have layers from the way they grow, like the growth rings of a tree. The horn tends to delaminate along the "growth rings", but uglifying mine with superglue made it grippier and stopped the crack propagation. I used to treat my blade as beater kick toy, up until the point ended up splurching in my foot. Now it gets more respect :D

David can swing the Magnum CAK without a problem

Man! That thing right next to my Kora would be awesome! What? ...oh yeah... thats right i dont have a Kora:(

Awesome, should've known! I think I almost ended up with one of then but the Khuk Gods gave me a TC instead.
Those Samsher have great lines.
