"Mrs. Ofelia Peasley,

With deepest sympathies for you and your family
your friends at the Himalayan Imports Cantina
wish you the very best during this most difficult time,
we hope our contribution helps a little
our friend Jerry Peasley
and his loving Family

From all at the Cantina"

.........................

Today the last check came and we are sending Jerry's family 680 dollars.
There are no 'administrative' costs (Both Ferrous and Stevo refused reimbursed postage) and this money in its entirety
is being sent tomorow's post.

Thanks to one and all

Wow! Almost $700! Thanks for putting this all together for us Munk! I know it was a time-consuming pain for you, but I'm glad it was suggested and acted upon.

Regards,

Norm

Good deal Munk. You, and everyone else that contributed, or sent funds and a card, or just a card, did good.
I'm gonna miss Pappy, already have in fact since he got sick and couldn't post anymore. I'm glad I was able to give Pappy some leather to make frogs for the men overseas. Pappy was gonna make me one but never got to it. I wish he had because it would've been something to treasure forever and to tell my grandkids who made it for me.
But I have memories and those are good enough for me.

Pappy certainly will be missed.
We periodically exchanged emails. He was always concerned about how others were doing.
I enjoyed his occasional stories and wisdom.

Pappy was a friend and a brother Marine. I think he would be OK with me posting this and me sharing it with you.

This is a response to an email I sent to him. I had shared with him that my sister had contracted cancer 15 years ago and had beat it. It was my attempt to try and give him hope. Pappy didn't need encouragement. He knew what he had to do. Here is his response. He wrote this in late April.

"Johnny, How the heck are you, Marine? Sorry I took so long to answer
this it seems like I have a hard time getting my rear in here to do much on the
computer any more. Things should start being a bit better now that it is
warming up down here in central TX. I have started getting my body in
shape so I can get the devil out of this wheel chair once in a while. My wife
and I have been working in the evenings getting my legs so I can hold my
weight on them without falling on my face. It seems like things go awful slow
and I don't have enough patience any way. The Doc. says I'll probably never
walk again on my own. The crutches will at least let me give my rear end a
break from all the pressure on it. Once I get on my feet it is hard to tell
just what I will accomplish. I have been known to be a stubborn dude some
times.

Nobody has to worry about me giving up with out fighting this thing.
Tell your Sister Hurrah for her. I'm always glad to hear about some one
that beats these cancers.

I sure do thank you for the prayers and thoughts. I can use all the help
I can get. I better close thins for now and not bore you to death.

Take care of you and yours and God Bless. I check with you later.

Jerry L. Peasley
Smithville, TX"

Semper Fi, Pappy. Hold a seat for me in Valhalla.

Yep, that's Pappy. I had a few emails from him that said pretty much the same thing. Pappy was one of the few that wasn't afraid of the next phase of the journey of Life. I am proud to know him!!!!

Before the downturn, he and I had been talking about getting him up on both feet.
