Based on an old thread just wanted to share mine. It does not have country or origin anywhere on it. Doesnt have brass washer. Has the Mercator name etched on blade and 400252 I believe stamped on blade. The spacer is metal rather than plastic. Just sharpened it. Took a nice edge you can shave with. Don't know if this would be a Japanese, India, or hopefully not Chinese.
I would include pics but I'm apparently techtarded and can't figure out how. Any ideas of where mine may have been made?

I am also afflicted in that way. The best for me has been buying a membership and uploading directly from my phone.

As a registered member, you can post pictures by uploading them to a web picture hosting site. Once uploaded, copy the web address of the picture, then go to your post and use the picture posting tool. Use the link option. Paste the web address into the tool, then click INSERT.

IMO it is probable that you have an actual K55. For decades, the K55 was so inexpensive that it would have been difficult for a fake to be lower priced.
