Mercharness
Over the course of 100 years or so, the world has seen the Neck-Knife concept of carry. Originally it was a tribal method of packing a blade, and in recent times the neck-knife has won favor by many in our society. Although it is ideal for many situations, the neck method is not perfect for everyone. My man Mercop has come up with an ideal solution for those who want a high-to-mid-line (as opposed to waist or leg) position to mount the users knife.
Essentially, the Mercharness is a figure-8 shaped harness that is constructed of strong para-cord and rubber stops or beads for adjustment. Simple in construction and nearly invisible to the eye, this harness lends itself very well to the Kydex and Concealex sheaths commonly produced for the knives of today. Simply attach the para-cord ends through the eyelets of the sheath and youre ready to rock.
I have been using one for some time now, and must say it works very well under the shirt. Due to the thin cord design, one is able to wear a knife all day long with nary a burden. Its sooo-cially acceptable because no one can see it. In this day and age, this can go a long way.
Additionally, the thinness of the harness lends itself well to hot environments. Compare this to the hot sticky sensation of leather or nylon rig and youll know what I mean.
Adjustability is a key factor for Mercop. He knows that everyone has a different physical structure and as such, this harness can adapt as needed. On the other hand, many folks who use the Mercharness are frequently changing for under-the-shirt carry to over-the-clothing, so of course, adjustments need to be made. No problemo, all is done with ease.
What I enjoy about the harness is this:
-I can roll it up around the sheath and stick it in my pocket. This allows me to still have quick access to my knife.
-I can access my blade cross-body or strong-side simply by rotating the harness. This allows me to further customize my options depending on what my days duties are looking like.
-This harness is ambidextrous, and the user can actually mount tools/weapons under each arm (such as a flashlight and knife).
-While seated in a car, my knife is far quicker and easier to access than a pocket knife (dont believe me? Strap your self in and then see what you think!).
Mercop is a professional in the business of preserving public safety and consequently rubs shoulders with many other pros in law enforcement, security, and defensive training. All of his interaction and involvement really pays of for the end user of his product. I highly recommend the Mercharness and give it the Thrust Seal of Approval.
