Mercharness

Hey guys. I just ordered an Izula and was thinking about hooking it up to a Mercharness. I'd rather make one myself, out of 550 paracord, than buying one. Do any of you guys have experience making a mercharness or know of a source that can help me out?

Pretty easy, depending on the sheath system for the knife, you may need someone to make kydex for certain applications. Other than that, its basically a figure 8 of 550 sized for you if im not mistaken. Your arms go through each side, the blade being on one, and it goes around your neck.

I was just hoping for an instruction video or webpage. I'd like to make the slip knots like those shown on that product, so it can be readily adjusted.

It doesn't have slip knots, it uses small sections of rubber tubing. short sections of heat shrink might work.

but at just under $10, is it worth the hassle? (although I suppose you've got to find somewhere that doesn't charge massive amounts of shipping)

Yup paying the 8 bucks is much easier then going thorough the pain of making it.
Seeing as the thing could fit in an envelope,I couldn't see the shipping costing too much.

I used to just make a figure-8 harness out of paracord, but then I got a Mercharness and have since gotten a half dozen more.

George uses these rubber grommet things that not only keep it together but make it adjustable. It is much better than the homemade rigs I was using.

The first time you put one together it is a PITA figuring out how to pull the paracord through the grommets with the wire, but once you figure it out it gets a lot easier.
