In the previous "Mercury" post, I said I'd have to make an elaborate Mercury based on this popular professional SWAT team design. Here's my "Mercury Magnum"

Beautiful Knife Jay:thumbup:Thanks for the pics:)

Your attention to detail is unmatched

Thanks guys.

This was a great project with a unique handle material. The Eudialite comes from Russia, and most of it is chopped into little pieces for jewelery before it becomes available. I look forward to future projects with it if it is available.

On the engraving, I wanted a design that would work well with the angular nature of the blade balanced with the curves of the handle. Just the drawing of the design of the interlocking forms took hours. The engraving in the 304 stainless took many, many more!

I wanted the sheath to balance the brightest part of the Eudialite and the darkest part of the blade, and the sharp angles of the inlays balanced the curves of the sheath profile. The texture of the tough Elephant skin was a sure hit!

Thanks for your interest and comments,
Jay

Jay that is beautiful as always, engraving is sharp, sheith as usual is over the top. The only thing I can see wrong with it is it's not mine.

Thanks guys.
Smitty, I definitely have an addiction to making knives... there could be worse ones!

Hi, Cloyde. Thanks for your comment. This one didn't last a day on the site!
