I just wanted to clarify something. I truly feel that MercWorx makes the best knives or I would not be spending this much time telling people about them. When I say, “MercWorx makes the best knives in the industry”. No one should ask, “What is wrong with MercWorx”. I don’t understand how anyone could confuse that statement with anything other than a “thumbs up” for MercWorx.

Your first add was nothing more than hype.
Best of the best etc. and ubsubstantiated.
Last warning from me. If you continue to show the disrespect you are showing you will not be welcome here.

I did not get an email from you and have no way to email you.

Bastid,
I mailed the wrong person then. I did not know you where the man to contact. I sent the e-mail to someone else...oops!

To quote maximus6 from a Nov'02 post of his: "my pals at Mercworx"
:footinmou You decide

I say, “my pals at MercWorx” because of the customer service. Call them up, talk to them; you’ll call them your pal’s too. That's all.

I moved the first post that was in the Traditional forum (obviously it did not belong there). The exact thread was also in this forum. The exact duplication of posts and over-enthusiasstic tone that was in the majority of them led me to believe that the threads were nothing more than taking advantage of an audience to promote. I stand by that decision and my action to move the posts. The identical posts were filled with some of the most un substantiated hype I have seen.

Trust me in the eyes of knife-nuts he is not doing MercWorx any favors.

P.S. read the article in KI yesterday. They look like great knives, but his hype was way out of line. His post above - best in the industry no one should ask is just a taste of what he previously posted. They may be great knives, but they have a long way to go to be able to prove all that was posted here.

Emerson (Ralph Waldo, not Ernie), said, "Second only in greatness to the man who utters a great phrase is the man who quotes him."

So, the man who quotes himself is both number on and and number two.

So, without further introduction, here is the man who needs no introduction:

As you should know, knife-makers, retailers, dealers and manufacturers are prohibitted from
advertising in most of the forums here at bf.c. One way they may try to get around this is by
employing a member to post a rather promotional thread. We call this "schilling."

Keep in mind that the moderatorial staff (remember, English is a generative language, so we can make up new words whenever we want to) are essentially looking at the situation through the
proverbial drinking straw. So, detecting schilling is a bit difficult. We have to do our best and erroron the side of caution.

Mr. maximus6's original post was just a bit to enthusiastic. Quite frankly, it reminded me of one of those 3:00AM Infomercials. I kept reading just to see if he was going to throw in a set of steak
knives if I ordered right now.

Couple this with fact that geographically he is located near this MercWorx company, and it all adds up to a suspecious pattern. (Consider, also, the fact that he has only about 60 posts under his
belt, about 1/3 of which involve this MercWorx company.)

I'm sure that Mr. Maximus6 enjoys reading bladeforums because of its high signal-to-noise ratio, because it is heavy on content and discussion signal and very low on advertising and hype noise. The environment that has been created here, an environment in which discussion and information flurish, is the result of strict limitations on advertising.

Maybe the moderatorial staff is wrong. Maybe Mr. Maximus6 has no relationship with the company and is just truly excited about the company and their products. I imagine that this is true. So, I'm sure that he will understand that the moderators do have to exercise caution in such matters in order to protect the information-rich environment that he, and all of us, enjoy.

Sorry everyone thought I was "Schilling". I really did not intend to stir anything up. Out of respect for The Forums I will tone it down a little bit. I realize now I got a little carried away with my original post after I went back and read it again. I don’t pimp anyone’s product, but when one product stands out in the crowd for me, it’s a big deal. Ask the tomahawk guys (and gal) at ATC if you want someone to stand up for my character and credibility. They know. When I really like a product or a company, I go nuts. Sorry for disrespecting the forums and I can see now why my posts were taken off. Believe me when I say I had no intention on making an ad. The Equatorian does work very, very well to take the head off a mortally wounded groundhog though. Just wear a raincoat! (sorry, that was not meant to sound like a testimonial)
No hard feelings I hope, because I have none and I don't think anyone else should. Life is too short.:D

No hard feelings at all Max!
Those really do look like great knives, but there are a lot of great knives being produced. I more than understand enthusiam for a knife, but we need to temper our enthusiam with reality every once in a while. ;)

Bastid, (and everyone else)
I'm glad to hear that everyone does not hate me. I get a little carried away sometimes, sorry. So you can all get a few good laughs and check out some cool gear, I made an Imagestation album with some pics of mine in it of various tomahawks, knives, ect... It's serious yet comical at the same time. You'll love my "pizza cutter"! Please letr me know what you guys think. I need imput!

Here is the address and password:

Enjoy!

Thanx,
Maximus

PS if the above address does not hyperlink cut and paste it, but please check it out. :D

maximus6, I do the same thing. I wouldn't stop bragging about how great Winston Knives were b/c of the price and quality, add the fact the Mr. Winston is one hell of a nice guy, I would buy up every one that I could, Now people listened, Mr.Winston is swamped with orders and its harder to buy one of his knives :( Boy that one back fired on me:D Then Delta Z came out with this HUGE SALE. Thats all I talked about for awhile. When you get a great deal or feel you discovered something great, its only natural to want to share your new found products or services.

Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only one that takes things to a whole new level. I probably do need to keep my mouth shut at lease a little more, but live and learn Huh?
Do you remember me? I believe we've spoken about tomahawks on the phone if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong, but if it was you, did you take my advice on the VT? It may not have been you but if so, which hawk did you go with?

First off let me say I carry the Mercworx line of knives.

That being said, I have to disagree with Maximus that these are the best knives in the world (I feel that MercWorx would disagree with that as well). However, they do provide an exceptional value for the money.

They are designed for specific purposes and will perform the functions they were intended to perform.

I have been pretty vocal about HandAmerican products lately since I ordered a steel and hone from them. I'm glad nobody has said I was schilling. I am just thoroughly pleased with their product.

As for your website. Dude, you're a psycho!:p

Mike

I am a psycho! :D Thanx for the input on the knives. As you can see from my pics, I go a little overboard, but I'm just really pleased with with my knife. I actually sit and hold it when I watch TV. Maybe I should seek help?! Naaa

I don't own one of these knives, but I do like the way they look. Any knife that Les would represent has to be a high quality product.
