Very impressive. Nice and small. I bet its fun to carry and shoot. Great gun/knife to take along on a picnic. How many of these do you make? I think it would be best in blued barrel, nickel bolsters and ivory instead of wood or horn.

Why .28 cal. What does it shoot?

Very cool! More discussion and pics please. Bruce it looks like you're going to have some company in that combo arena! This is great. Keep it coming.

I've got 12 I'm putting handles on next week, I plan to make many with different variations of handles materials. These 12 are already sold. I'll have more by the end. It's keeping me very busy, ready to sell the T.V. because there's no time to watch it!

Way past cool! Every time I see one of those combos I want to make one. Sadly, you guys are out of my league. But I can drool at the pictures!

I have a burning question I been dying to ask Bruce, but I'll present it to you both... Ken and Bruce - do you guys also rifle the barrels?

Hi Jeff. I have made 3 pistols so far. The first one is drilled and honed to use size oo buck shot (.330") 33 caliber. It is a smooth bore. The second one is a section of a sears .22 cal barrel. It has the factory rifling. The third gun is a bored and honed 1018 steel billet smooth bore. When you are playing poker and drinkin red eye whiskey and have to pull her out to get away from the game with all your winnings, it dont matter if there are lands and grooves in the barrel.

It's funny Ken. I saw a post with an origional 1860 era pistol yesterday on another site. Let's see if I can likn the picture:

So "back in the day," who would carry such a contraption? A gambler? A gentleman? Anyone thinking they need a backup?

Well, yours should be a big seller Ken.

I've built a couple of cane guns in the last 6 weeks. I'm going to build a double decker this month that has the firing mechanism in the end half of the barrel and a dagger attached to the handle.

Twist the handle to the left to withdraw the dagger and pull the spacer to cock and twist to the right to fire the gun.

Are you having any problem with blowback or does the hammer enclose the cap?

We changed the design and added a safety to ours. No worry about the caps blowing back in your face with our hammer. Our hammers strike upward instead of rocking back. The hammer also encloses the cap as well.
Your cane sounds very interesting too. Do you have any pictures of it?

Peter,in what caliber or Gage are your cane guns?

36 and 28 ga. These are all black powder. Breech loaders are considered "any other weapon" by the feds and one needs to register them.

Do you have any pictures of it?
I haven't made the dagger/gun cane yet Ken. That's on this months agenda.
I can take pictures of the ones I've made though. The firing mechanism is simple. Just a spring loaded collar that looks like a spacer and a sear that trips when the handle is rotated.
