Well, my wife and I decided what we are getting each other for Christmas.

I'm getting her this Snakewood inlay small classic Sebenza
http://www.knifeart.com/smalsnakin.html

And she is getting me this giraffe bone inlay Mnandi
http://www.knifeart.com/exgirfol.html

I'm excited. :D

I had a small Sebbie for a while and loved the knife so I know she'll love hers and I've always wanted a Mnandi. It should go perfect in the Mission Wallet I'm getting from someone else. These are going to be the nicest, most expensive knives either of us has ever owned, and her first taste of a real high end knife (currently she carries a Spyderco Native and has a BM42 balisong)

It would be the perfect Christmas if she wasn't still going to be in Iraq:( But at least we will each have a nice gift from each other, and it'll be something she can put to use over there.

Just wanted to share my excitement.

Thats awesome man...both knives are great. That Mnandi is absolutely awesome. Wish I had the money for one of those, but I'm broke from buying a small regular sebenza and $660 Olympus C-5060Z digicam.

thats awesome that she carries a balisong :D Most of the girls I know, immediately associate them with something bad. Go figure.

Nope, I called and placed the order, both were in stock and are shipping tomorrow. I'm pretty excite and so is she. It'll be the first time for me handling either a Mnandi or a wood inlay Sebbie so it should be fun.

Beautiful knives. I've been eyeing that Mnandi for months, it's the best looking one I've seen. It was left handed, I would have bought it :D

Both are very beautyful knives.

I hope my ordered small Sebenza regular woodinlay with CBB-Inlay and Raindrop-Damascus-Blade will arrive before we have chrismas.

Very nice knives. I wish I had a giraffe bone Mnandi. Please tell us what you think of it.

Well, the knives arrived last week. My wifes Sebbie was beautiful, just as I expected. It is on it's way over to Iraq now, hopefully it will make it there before Christmas.

I was a little dissapointed with the Mnandi. The knife is outstanding of course, but the inlays looked nothing like those pictured. They where nice, but not nearly as good looking as in the pics. The actual inlays where a much darker carmel color with very little variation. None of the cool darker lines that give the one in the pic so much depth and texture. They where nice, but pretty plain looking. After handling the Mnandi for a little I also decided it was just a little to small for my big hands. I could open it one handed, but it took some concentration. It wasn't nearly as fluid for me as the small Sebbie. It is a great knife, I just wasn't comfortable handling it. I ended up returning it and have a small classic with Zebrawood inlay already here. The Mnandi doesn't look that much smaller then the Sebbie in the pics, but once you have them in hand the difference in feel is huge.

Only 23 more days until I actually get my new Sebenza! I can't wait.

I have a large left hand giraffe bone limited edition inlay 2004. I ordered it at Blade Show West last September. I talked to Chris at the show about it and he took me to a vendor and let me pick out the material that I wanted for the knife. Should be a pretty cool knife.:D  ;)

That's cool that you got to pick out your own handle material! So, your still waiting for that one? When do you expect it? Please share pics when you get it. I've never seen giraffe bone on a large Sebenza before, that'll be unique.

It's due April or May 2004. It should be unique. I go to a lot of shows and Chris knows me by sight and I buy a lot of his stuff so I guess that makes me a good customer. I'm really looking forward to it. The one I am currently waiting for is a small 2003 left hand Snakewood. I was suppossed to get it in November. But that's cool, it gives me more time to save up. I'm planning on upgrading my membership and getting a good digital camera so I can post pics of my knives. I have a very nice collection of left hand folders. My scanning abilities leave a lot to be desired.:D  ;) :p
