Before I forget amid the holiday festivities...

Thank you Uncle Bill for the good customer service and the little forum on the internet where I can hang out.

Thank you to others who have most generously shared their knowledge and life experiences.

Thank you to the assorted wierdos who make this place a most entertaining place to visit.

And thanks to the kamis who produce a very fine product.

Did I leave anyone out?

And God Bless Us All. Thanks for including us weirdos...now I got more than coal in my sock:D

happy christmas Bruiseleee and happy holidays to the HI cantina in general :) .

in connexion with christmas, I just wanted to pass on the info that there's a fantastic site which sells everything from Hindu and Nepalese sculpture and jewelry to paintings to books, &c. which is having a 'Christmas' sale=25% everything + free shipping. What they don't mention is that the free-shipping is express shipping from India--just a couple of days, much faster than ordering from most places right next door!

Exotic Indian Arts (25%-off + free express shipping)

I just got a fantastic Siva-Sakti murti and some Rajasthanian jewelry from them [meanwhile I'm still waiting over a fortnight for a khukuri I ordered from Canada--and during that time I've placed and received a number of orders from India (and most of them were just airmail, not express)--odd that India seems to have a better postal system than Canada. Can't understand why it takes so long to get something from Victoria, B.C. to Harrisburg, PA. I get things quicker from the UK--does Canada send their post to the UK for distribution, or is my khuk arriving by mounty? sorry--another minor tirade :o ;)--just anxious to receive it:(]

so if you're looking for any Hindu/Buddhist bits and pieces (including Nepalese-made items), you might want to check it out@http://www.exoticindia.com/

happy holidays all once again, Ben.

Thanks Bruise! and same to you!:)

I second your thoughtful words of thanks to everyone:)

and second Wal's appreciation for including weirdos. Although I must say, Bruise, its a little self serving to include YOURSELF in the list of those you want to thank:p :D :p ;)

Merry Christmas to everyone!

I second Bruise on everything. Beoram great link, thanks for sharing. I have been trying to find a site that offers good hindu and buddhist statues. :D :D

Merry Xmas to one and all.

The good times are here, so are the blessed days. May all the kind and generous help the desperate and lonely unceasingly the whole year through.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. Golok, I sent you your present but I guess someone else got it. I still pray it turns up though. We can discuss it and find out what happened to it in the next world if we don't meet up in person in this one. I pray all of you have a fun, safe holiday season; full of friends, family and a couple of khukuris. Peace and Joy be with you all.

Best wishes to all in the Cantina and especially to Uncle Bill,

You make this place fun, informative, but more than that you all are gentlemen.[I am yet to see anyone using fawl language]. Clearly this forum is standing out in more ways than one. Thanks for the frienship and good taste.

May you all win the lottery and buy enough Khucs from Uncle Bill to sustain Nepal's economy while decorating the house!

I add my wishes to all for a happy holiday season...

I'd also like to include happy holiday wishes and prayers for those who are "over there" (and over here too) serving in harms way... may God watch over them and keep em safe :) .

Uncle, thanks again for all the wonderful stuff you provide us here in the cantina :D .

God Bless everyone,

Alan

and Ben, your experience with Canadian mail service is the same as mine - items from Australia and England arrive twice or three times as fast as those sent from Canada. I assume the dog sleds get bogged down once they get south of the snow line:rolleyes:

:D :D :D

so I'm not the only one - I suppose it's not fair to compare the Canadian postal system to that of a developed country like India ;) ;) [though, actually, India was the 1st country with a postal system (under British rule), if I remember rightly].

cheers & happy holidays, Ben.

Happy Holly Daze everyone!!!!!!

And a Jolly Winter Solstice as well.;)

Grandfather Sun will be turning northwards again in a few days bringing warmth and new life to the cold country once again. Here comes SPRING!!!!!!!:D

(Even though we haven't had 'Winter' to speak of here.):)

Andrew, Please, Please define *carve* first.;) :p

I would recommend a 20"+ AK or GRS for a turkey 60 pounds or more. Ifen the turkey's that big s/he has gotta be tough or extra fat.;)

A BGRS or BAS would probably do well for a turkey from 30 to 60 pounds.

A very well sharpened 12" AK or any other "little' khukuri would preform well on all other turkeys from 10 pounds up to 30 pounds.

And if you get one of those turkeys that didn't develop properly and is all breast I would say a Kumar Karda would work well.

And to absolutely top everything off if you happened to get one of those turkeys that had been in the infantry and comes only in a package of 10 dozen legs then by all means you have only one choice.
The WW II Model of course!!!!!!!!!!;) :p   :)

We won't have turkey but probably fried flies and rice and I don't need a khukuri or anything else to cut flies and rice.
