Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year to all of the Usual Suspects, Suspected Suspects and Potential Suspects.
I would like to thank everyone for their interest and faithful support over the past years. I really want all of you to know how valuable your presence and input are to us. While you might not know it, I do watch, listen and sometimes even participate on the forums. I regard you all of you as the sounding board, ad hoc advisors and one of our greatest assets, in our continuing effort to move forward as the leading edge of the cutlery industry. Without your continued input and at times, critical efforts, it would be a much tougher row to hoe.
This next year is going to be very exciting for us and I hope what we are doing will be of interest to you also. Here are a few hints for 2002.
By now, I hope that you have heard about the "Super Commander". Well, be on the lookout for the "new and improved" standard Commander as well.
As a result of the 9-11-01 attacks, our training programs have exploded. Due to the demand of our military and government contracts, I have formed a permanent and separate division - Emerson Combat Systems - to handle the training requirements. We have just returned from Fort MacDill where we introduced the program. There are some "special groups" that we will be training there on an ongoing basis. We are doing a lot more to fight the war on terrorism than just selling knives. This is a real and exciting honor for me personally.
If you are interested in "reality" training in hand-to-hand combat and edged weapons, check our web site for class dates and locations.
As a result, you will see an increase in more weapons oriented tools that will show up on our web site. Since these will be more unique, or , "specialized" tools, they will not be going into our catalog, but will only be available directly from us.
The Emerson Combat Systems books and videos will finally be out this year. Hopefully, they will debut at the Blade Show in June.
We will also be introducing more, "Hard Core" training gear and accessories to benefit your training programs. Remember, we only sell what we use. If it's not good enough for us, it's not good enough for you.
Finally, and perhaps the most important. I am introducing a new knife company this year, Carrera Sports Utility Knives, Inc. This is a secret project that I have been working on for over a year now. If you have wanted affordable Emerson designs, now you have the chance. The first models, Phase One, will be introduced at the SHOT Show in February. These are new, exciting and affordable Emerson designs. This could be big...really big, for the cutlery industry. We will update you as we get closer.
These are just a few of the events on the horizon for 2002. Of course there will probably be a couple of new models sometime later this year. CQC-8? But, I have not decided yet.
There are several knife companies that have not fared so well since the attacks on 9-11-01. Emerson Knives has emerged from the chaos with even a larger presence in the cutlery industry. Since 9-11-01
we have been reaffirmed and validated as, "America's Knife Company" by the men and women of the U.S. Military and American Law Enforcement Agencies. We now know that we have done the right thing and stayed true to our colors - Red, White and Blue. We have emerged with an even stronger commitment and resolve to serve those those who protect and guard our freedom, our rights and our way of life.
God Bless and protect those who are now in harms way and God Speed them safely back to the arms of their loved ones.
