I'm joining the ranks of having a REAL grinder. It's been 4 years on my hunk'O Crap. I thinks it's time. Cant wait :D

All I could swing right now is the KMG-PL . I dont do much hollow work anymore. I'll still keep old sparky for handle material. For now I'll just use a 2hp motor till I can run across a good deal on a 3hp VFD. Might do some diggin in the junkyard tommorow . Ya never know. Might see some bigwheel grinder making supplies ;)
 
Congratulations on the grinder, whats going to be your first project on the new rig?
 
I have the KMG-PL and love it, of course. :D


Don't know why anybody would need more than 1.5-2HP, though....I really push hard on mine and it doesn't bog.
 
Remember the thread about high speed high pressure grinding? Methinks maybe there's some experimentation afoot to stop three times while grinding to let it cool in air, then finish the grind on the forth red heat and quench. Normalize and harden during grinding. Eliminates a few steps. ;)
 
Mark, It went out on Friday....I think it should arrive in about 3 business days....so maybe Tues or Weds.


Army Ranger...your KMG-10 is ahead of schedule...it might ship on Monday...probably Tues for sure. Then about 5-6 business days in transit to Yuma.

Congratulations Mark and Ranger!!! That's great, you're going to be one happy man in a couple days. You'll be living with steel dust in your hair and everywhere throughout the house but you won't mind a whole lot, eh? That's great. Have fun and keep us posted.
