Hi Folks,

I am delivering this message on behalf my good friend Ron Cochran of “Ron’s Knife Shop”. Ron is currently spending much needed time with his mother for medical reasons. Please be as patient as possible regarding any outstanding work you may have in process with Ron, as he is temporarily unable to easily answer email at this time.

For pressing questions (if it really can’t wait a few days…) Ron can be reached on his new cell phone at: 864-680-8414. Otherwise, he will contact you as soon as he is able. Currently, Ron has some 10 finished knives awaiting shipping, so as soon as he is able they will be sent out to their respective customers.

Ron apologizes for the increased wait time and hopes that you will understand given the circumstances.

Please join me in “having a good thought” for him and for his family. :)

Just a quick note to ask how Ron is getting on?

I'm one of a few people who have knives in with him to have work done on them, and I haven't heard anything for a couple of months now ... ?

I had an eMail from Rons wife the other day. He's having some medical problems now. They are trying to get things out to us as quickly as possible.

These folks sure could use some good luck.
 
Jeff, thanks for the info. I had been wondering about my old friend since I hadn't seen or heard from him for a good while. Please let him know that both he and his family will be in my prayers.

Sorry to bump this back to the top, but I was wondering if anyone has any more news on Ron Cochran?

I have had a Spyderco Ayoob in with him for (about) ten months now, plus the money for having carbon fibre scales applied. When Ron's familly first had a bout of ill-health, it didn't bother me that there would be a further delay, because these things happen ..., and he had warned me there might be a turnaround time of a few months in any case.

Based on this thread, I thought my knife might be shipping since he had at one point mailed me to say it was 80% finished. Given that he has unwell I did not want to be pushy over it so I left it.

I mailed Ron back on the 26th of March, however, when I had no further contact. He didn't reply.

Anyone got any news on him / the status of any knives in for work with him?

In a day or two I think I will phone him up. A few people have said I was crazy for not doing so before this, but I didn't want to be an ******* if there are genuine health problems involved.

I'm trying to be patient & not bother the family, but an update would be welcome.
 
I saee today that Ron is posting again in the Political Forum. I hope his troubles are behind him and he can contact us about his works in progress.
 
I hope this are getting better for Ron.

He is a great guy & he does very good work for a reasonable price.

I sent him an email that is listed on his web site & got a return that it could not be delivered.

The 1857 was the one on his web page that cut & pasted to my email.

Per your kind suggestion, I tried 1957, still no luck, Maybe I am too tired to see what I am doing wrong.
