Messed up main bevel

I was reprofiling my strider to 30 degrees on my sharpmaker when I realized that I messed up the bevel on one side near the tip. I have never done this before and is only on one side. Luckily I'm keeping this knife and it's a user so I don't mind as much but I'm just wondering how it happened and if it's possible to make the bevels match again.

I've seen worse from use.

Stop with the tip still on the stone, running the tip off the stone is usually the problem.
