So I was doing a project outside of the house and dropped my 6 year old 520 on the cement. Now the pivot gets loose every time is open it. The blade also is uncentered now.

Should I...
1. Loctite the pivot screw

Or

2. Send it into the benchmade spa

Thanks! The 520 is my favorite folder and I want it back to its former glory

Can you tell if something is broken? I've never sent a knife into BM but I'm sure they would take care of it.

However, I've taken the blade off (I like to completely coat the blade in Tuff Glide) or significantly disassembled most of the ~15 BM folders I've had and it is pretty easy to both re-center and *blue* loc-tite the pivot screw. That's what I'd try first before sending the knife off for a few weeks.

You could always call Benchmade customer service and see what they recommend and take it from there.

Let us know how Benchmade takes care of you...IF you contact them...I'm waiting for them to respond back to me on a issue i'm having with my 755mpr

If after re-assembly the blade isn't centered, loosen the frame screws and hold the blade centered, or past in the corrective direction and tighten the frame screws. Repeat until centered.

Don't email. Call them during business hours and you'll get a much better result.

email typically slow? gotta admit, I've been getting a little disheartened. guess i'll have to wait almost another week to call.
I agree, don't bother emailing them. I had an issue with the pocket clip of my Benchmade Aphid. I emailed them several times over a few weeks. NO response. I finally called them and they were very helpful on the phone. The Omega springs on my Kulgera broke and one call was all it took to set up a return trip to fix the knife.
