So I managed to drop my bk-7 tip down on concrete . Messed up the tip and chipped the blade some , i got the chips out but can't get it becker sharp agin or get the tip back into shape . Any ideas ? any were i could send it to have it fixed up ? no local knife sharpening that i can find .

Sharpen it with a more aggressive stone/sandpaper. When the tip and edge is damaged it usual is repaired by a lil re-profiling and sharpening. It worked fine with the tip of my BK7 when It was damaged by hitting a stone.

If you are able to upload a picture, you probably will receive detailed advice.

Pics are always useful...Someone snapped the tip off of my BK-16 once and I just used 80 grit sandpaper to grind it back and reprofile it.

There is a member here by the name of "Richard J" who offers a sharpening service. I actually just read a thread on his work last night and every single poster raved about his work and communitication. Pretty fast turnaround too I beleive.

Look him up, seems like good people based on my limited exposure to him in that thread.

He has never done work for me, but he has a great following.

Best of luck-

I did about the same thing to my 9. I used the 80 grit sandpaper on my Worksharp and it fixed right up with no problems.

I got the tip back into shape with some 150 and 220 grit sand paper .I'm sending it out to be sharpened .Thanks for the info guys .

Depending on where you are in Michigan, I could hook you up. No point in paying for some thing like that
Kind of like paying someone to change your oil or put air in your tires.

I could buy a couple new beckers with what I'd spend on gas to go to GR lol . thanks for the offer though , i do appreciate it .
