So I messed upa etch on my mark on a blade I used a dc electric etch and my template moved what's the best way to get it off. I always used a touch mark before sooooo.....grind it off and re etch my blade?

I'm pretty sure there is a makers section that you would get a reply much faster in. I have absolutely no clue but would love to see the knife!

Alright lol I'm no guru but let me try and help. I'll find the makers forum and paste it in here for you in a second. When it comes to photos I use Imgur. It is an app. Basically you upload them to imgur to a "cloud". You can make your photos private if you wish. Then when they are done uploading (typically only takes a few moments) . Then you hold down the picture or click the "copy URL" link. After you copy your URL then you go back to BF. In the message box at the bottom (what I am typing in right now) you will see a little photo icon. Click the photo icon and paste your url from Imgur. Sounds like a pain but its pretty easy man!

Yes. Your only option is probably going to be grinding it off, and doing it again unfortunately. DC will usually, go deep so it will take a bit more work than ac to get it off. Depending what went wrong.

When you say misaligned what do you mean exactly. I'm sure pictures could help others give some advice on how to work around this, if possible.

If you're careful, you might be able to sand the bad part of the mark off, until you're back to just the single mark from before your stencil moved. It all depends on how deep the mark went after moving. You may just be better off grinding the whole mark off and starting over.

I've certainly been there, done that.

Like other said, grind it off and restart.

A few tricks I used before I switched to a fiber laser:

1) use a light coat of windex under the stencil to keep it flat.
2) use electrical tape, not painters tape
3) when checking your mark, only lift one side of the tape. That way, when you put it back down, it’s exactly where it was before.

Good luck!
