Hey,
I had some thin steel kickin' around and thought I'd try my hand at stache/beard combs. They are rough prototypes so go easy on fit and finish. I made all of these in about 2hrs(cut, ground, HT, temper, sand, etch and colour). I definitely need to rig up some sort of fixture/jig to cut the teeth. Not very clean with a hacksaw and file... lol.

very cool. I'm thinking the teeth would be a really good waterjet or plas-table project. But thats a rather complex solution. Maybe a jig and thin cut-off wheel?

Based on a large run amount a waterjet would make super quick and easy work of a profile like that. A capable waterjet operator can stack multiple thicknesses. Even tho you are in prototyping stages, what is the projected date at which you would like to start marketing these? I like them and want a pocket clip for myself!

The way to get these out quickest/cheapest would be starting with a solid bar of steel and gang-milling the slots, then cutting off each individual comb as a thin slice. Though that would force you to use a screwed on, soldered or welded pocket clip for those versions.
