I was away Sat and Sun for a gunshow on the outskirts of Washington D.C. and met fellow knifemaker Rodney Shelton from TN. I was suprized to see a maker from another state at a local show. I enjoyed talking knives with him for the small amount of time we had. He's been making knives for 34 years and is a fifth generation blacksmith. It felt good to have him complement my work and his knives were very very nice. I also sold the stag and brass bolster piece I posted in another thread. :D I had a very enjoyable weekend for a change. :D

Great news, my friend. Gunshows can be rough.

You're right about that Dan. I've been lucky at the shows because I have a customer base from when I sold factory knives. Now they buy my handmade knives. The shows have been good to me. :) Just curious if anyone knows Rodney? Very nice fellow. He sets up at Blade every year.

I know Rodney very well, he is one of my best friends. We have traveled together, done shows together(including the Blade)as far away as Texas, his home state. Rodney has greatly limited his number of knives lately due to his and his wife Charlottes committment to Zach Brown whom they consider to be as another son to them. He is pretty much limiting his shows to Raleigh, NC . Charlotte,NC and the Blade Show, which he will not miss. Next time I speak with him I will tell him that you guys spoke of him. He is a good Christian Man.
