Hey crowd!

As I´ve already stated in The Lounge, I´ve had the chance to meet our fellow forum member Sturzi in my hometown. Some months ago he told me, he will cycle downwards the river Inn from its origin in Switzerland. We were chatting some months ago about this. Some days ago he told me that he will start travelling. On Sunday he told me, he´ll be near my hometow. So we met on monday evening in a nice bavarian Wirtshaus. We had some beer together, a good meal and a great time at all - at least it was a great evening for me.
I had the chance to handle with Sturzi´s GEC gunstock - what a great feeling knife!

We were swaping knives as well. He gave me his unused Blade Forum Knife from the last year - WOW what a great knife!!! I really like it and will definitelly carry it.

Some pics for ya guys & gals...

Thanks for the great evening, Sturzi! (... and the knife of course as well!!)

In this sense to this great bunch of people here: Prost! (= Cheers ;) )

Very nice, and what a wonderful gesture! We have an amazing group around here (and around the world, for that matter)!

That's just great guys! PROST!

I have to admit I am a bit jealous though, wish I had taken the chance to get one of last years BF knives while they were still available...

However, if any of you happen to visit Hamburg, Germany make sure to drop me a line and I can show you around a bit and we could have a beer or three :D

Cheers,

What an awesome story and gift!! I was surprised at how much I liked this knife when I got to handle one at the knife show last month. So much cutting edge on that long sheepsfoot and just a nice thin pocket-able knife.

Decent beer, good food and talking with another knife worshipper? Not many things better...;)

i like the colour combo Andi, green/white kind of reminds me of Roquefort or Gorgonzola cheeses!

Outstanding...that's great when forum members can have a face to face. And working in some knife swapping too of course.

:)

Sooner or later, I will organize the European BF meeting  but meanwhile, I smile every time other members get the chance to meet, know each other, have a meal and drink, and fondle some knives ;) just like Carl and Dan, and Andi and Sturzi. One more reason why this place is so special.

It's always great to meet knife friends from the internet, especially where your at considering most of our community is US based.

That's a great knife Andy, it's elegant, it's gentlemanly, it's a perfect blade combo with the long and I mean long Sheepsfoot blade and the little pen/spear.

The 2013 is the epitome of class and a great culmination of what we've learned from previous forum knives, it represents a evolutionary turning point in the process of choosing and acquiring a forum/club knife, (as you can tell I really love last year's knife) it was also the least talked about and posted about forum knife after production.

Glad you guys had a knice :) visit the Traditional Forums, the best place to put your feet up and sit awhile. ;)

Wow!...Nice. A summit between two of the great gentlemen of BF's. Pretty nice knife you picked up there Pappa! Enjoy & have a great weekend!

Peter

Thanks for the kind replies, fellows :)

Me and Sturzi had a great evening and some really nice talking about knives, the Forums (just good things of course ;) ) and we enjoyed the time.

I really hope that Sturzi will chime in here for a comment. I´m looking forward hearing his opinion about that.

Expect from monday the whole week was stressy like hell and I enjoyed some nice beer with my dad at our both building lot this afternoon :)

Fausto: Yeah, you gonna have to organize an European BFC Meeting in near future. We just should have to keep it somewhere in the Middle of the Map. :) would be definitelly a pleasure :D

Hey guys,
Finally my cellphone is charged again and I have the chance to quickly check the forum.
We really had a great time that evening. It's kind of a funny story: After I left I soon realized that I didn't have a knife with a spey blade with me to spread my cream cheese or jam. So I carved something resembling a butterknife which did the job. But when meeting up with Andy, guess what he had for me: A case trapper with a long spey blade :D. It's now my designated food knife for the trip, thank you Andy for the perfect gift :).

Now I'm on the way up the Donau (Danube), and back home. I'll post lots of pictures when I'm back in about a week. I don't have too much data volume left on my phone, so you'll hear from me again when I'm home.

Thanks again for the nice evening,
sturzi

Its so cool that you guys got to meet face to face, share some beers and talk knives. I'm always amazed at the great folks like Andi that I have chatted with and would love to meet some of you in person, but still, the connections formed by this medium are fascinating to me. PROST! To the both of you, and thanks for sharing.
