I went to the Solvang show and spoke with Mr. Reeve. This is my first knife show and did not know what to expect. I went to his table and saw so many beautiful mnandis and sebenzas. However, I think half of them were sold by the time I got to the show. Chris had 2 damascus small classics left. I picked them up and did not want to put them down. He had a snakewood ladder damascus and a unique silver contrast raindrop damascus. He said he brought 4 damascus blades. Mr. Reeve answered some questions on damascus for me and I bought the small classic silver contrast raindrop. The raindrop is amazing. The knife however is not for me. My co-worker allowed me to shop for him because he could not go to the show. He gave me a budget and he likes my taste in knives. Well, I blew his budget slightly so if he doesn't want the knife, I will keep it. I am sure he will keep it once he sees it. If anyone has not been to a knife show, I highly recommend it. My only regret is that I got so distracted by the damascus sebenza that I did not ask Mr. Reeve more questions about his wonderful company.

The damascus sebenza I picked up has a leather lanyard. I did not know CRK had these neat braided leather lanyards.

It sounds like a beautiful Sebbie!! I would love to see pix! And how cool is THAT to meet Mr. Reeves!! I hope to get to meet him someday.

Hi,

Sounds like you had a great time at the Solvang Show. Chris is a great guy- next time, get him started talking motorcycles... Chris was a champion motorcycle racer back in South Africa.

The leather braided lanyards are not new, but are offered exclusively by Chris and Anne only at knife shows. The lanyard option is not available to collectors, users or dealers who order from the company.

So, now all you Sebenzaholics have another good excuse to get yourselves to a knife show where CRK will be exhibiting.

Take care, Neil

Yes.... to visit a knife show would be great ! ! Thanks for the info Neil ;)
( p.s. still loving my stainless damascus basketweave Mnandi from TNK:D )

Chris D. :D

I don't know how to post pics. Besides, I gave the knife to my coworker and he likes it. The leather lanyard looks almost like it was made of wire. It holds its braided shape and the diameter of the round leather string is similar to that of a large paper clip. It was the only knife I saw with that lanyard.

What isn't to like about that knife! Are you a little disapointed that he liked it? It is a beautiful knife!!

The Solvang show was a great one, as always. Chris did indeed have some nice stuff at his table. I especially liked the gold colored unique graphic with matching cabachon. Unfortunately, I moved too slow to grab it.

Neil -- I'm guessing that you were there. If so, sorry I missed you. I'm told that I need to meet you.

Best regards,
Dave F.
