In an old knife magazine I saw an article about a belt grinder called a Meta Grinder. The article was informative and I was very interested in getting the plans for one; however, as the magazine was several years old I wasn't sure the company was still in business. Calling the phone number they listed was a dead end as was the letter I sent to the P.O. box number. The machine they built seemed to be about in the same class as the Unigrinder I've seen advertised but in a more compact benchtop form. If anyone has an opinion on or knows anything about this particular grinder, such as where I can get the plans for one, I'd surely like to hear about it.

Thanks,
G.W. Thomas

I just got the plans for the Unigrinder and it is quite impressive. No reason you could not alter the plans to make it a table model if you wanted too. That is, if you can not find a lead to the Meta.

Bill, You got your plans? I was sure impressed with the pics of it before and and would like to see the plans.

You might want to keep all the guys posted on your progress. That is one very impressive grinder., Terry

G.W., I Have the Meta plans if you are interested in them. I purchased them a few years ago, and shortly after bought a Wilton grinder. Send me an email if you are interested. Mike

Bill,

I went to Ask Jeeves and entered Meta Grinder. The only hit I got was a question asked in Anvilfire in 1998 which received no answer. Still interested in a home-built machine.
