I was wondering something about my CQC7 clip point, plain edge. I dont at all like the chisel grind. I Cant use my lansky to sharpen it and i cant get an edge worth anything on it using a stone. Does anyone know if emerson will sharpen the other side for me? is this something i should be doing anyway?

I've had good luck sharpening my chisel ground Emerson Raven with a small fine DMT stone. Sharpen just the one side at 30 degrees, then strop the back on cardboard. Gets it pretty sharp. I don't like the chisel grind either, but I've just resolved to avoid buying them in the future.

Have you read the sharpening FAQ? The url is below, scroll down to the section on chisel ground blades.

For more info on how to sharpen a chisel edge, go to the Emerson forum in Makers/Manufacturers section and do a search for "sharpening" or "Chisel edge."

Either one is likely to turn up more info on sharpening than any sane man would ever want to read!
