Metal/Brass polish recommendations

I am shopping for a metal polish to use on finished knives and knife parts. I make knives as well as do a lot of knife restoration. I am looking for a polish I can use on a variety of both Carbon steel and Stainless steel blades to remove light discoloration, etc. and on brass guards and butt caps to remove the oxidation that occurs over time from finger acids, etc.
I have heard Flitz recommended on another thread as a good polish, and was about to purchase some but was wondering how the other brands compared. I have seen Simichrome polish (reasonably priced but a small amount) and K&G sells a product by 3M, a Marine Metal Restorer and Polish (reasonably priced in a larger quantity). There is also Renaissance Wax, but most makers I have talked to say it is more of a protectant and it is over-priced; I have had Kiwi white shoe polish recommended to me as a more economical substitute for Ren Wax.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Wapiti,
I just use brasso and it works real well. Then I just apply car wax that has carnauba in it over the blade and brass.Appears to do a good job.:D

White rouge will shine up carbon steels, brass, nickle silver, and most handle matrials. Works especially well on stag and bone. For stainless steels I've found green chrome the best.

I am all set for buffing polish, but thanks for the advice on it, as well. I was more interested in the polish used more for maintenance of the knife, for example after it is used for a few weeks and gets some spots, etc. Although a light buff on the power machine would definitely work.
Thanks

I use Mother's mag wheel polish. It works just as good as Flitz, Semichrome and someothers that I have tried.

I also use Mother's mag wheel polish, and as George indicates it works well. I like Flitz a little better. The abrasive seems a little finer, plus it a cool blue color. ;)
