metal clip on a FRN handle?

I have a lightweight Endura that I purchased a few years ago. I assume that the handle is the FRN handle since it is the lightweight model. The clip broke off. I was sitting down, it caught my watchband, and when I pulled my arm up the pocket clip shot across the room. The clip was the integral, plastic clip. Is it possible for me to put a metal clip on it? Or will the screws not hold in the plastic? Thanks for any help.

I can practically guarantee you that screws won't hold in FRN.

That said, I understand that Spyderco will build one of the modern-style Endura clips into the handle for you. Give their warranty and repair line a call.

I will guarantee you that a 3-hole clip can be screwed in, and it will hold-mine has for more than 2 years. I'd post pics, but I can't.--Joe

Though the barrel clip used now at some FRN models (like Endura, Delica or Native) works very well, I still admire more the way they did to the Calypso jr. It's much more elegant IMO.
Call Spyderco's Service and Warranty, maybe they can fit a similar solution to your knife.

I had a three-hole metal clip mounted on my Dragonfly in 2001. It's still there.

Send it back to Spyderco. It might cost you five dollars.

Good luck. ;)
