Metal Handles?

Does anyone care to comment on the use of knives like the Mtn II with their metal handles? Looks like a great knife, but I'm worried about grip, cold, etc. Are they coated to prevent rust? (It looks like the blade metal is used for handle as well?)

Thanks!
Kai

Kai, I don't like metal handles on my knives.

gets slippery too easily, difficult to deal with in the cold, scratches easily

I like Micarta, wood, G10, even good FRN for the appropriate knife

No grip issue's with my Shadow III. Atleast with hot and sweaty hands I live in FL. The knife is coated with G2 gunkote. I actually like the handle alot it being round allows you more ways to grip it, you can hold it with the blade facing any direction you need.

JB51: No problems with it getting hot? (I'm in Texas!) I do like the idea of having a round handle with a nice looking thumb/forefinger groove.

No problems getting hot. But I guess if you left it on the dash of your car it could get hot. I find the grip is fine even when I am working on a roof and my hands are covered in sweat. I havn't found a better work horse for the price. On the CRK site they say you can use the handle as a hammer in emergencies although it isn't recommended because you can cut yourself easily
