Metal Match On Airplanes?

Just curious: has anyone had a problem with carrying a metal match, ferrocerium rod or similar onto an airplane lately?

Paranthetically, just what sort of emergency gear, beyond a keychain light and a whistle can you carry-on these days?

I've flown twice since 9/11 with my spare rod in my wallet - nothing...no problems.

Last time I flew I was waiting in line for the metal detector and was reading all the federal regulations signs they had. One of the items banned by fed regs is matches. I was surprised to see it. The people who went through my bag by hand either didn't see my matches (not hidden) or didn't care. They did steal my Bic lighter, and took the flint out of my Zippo, though.

I doubt they have any clue as to what it is.

I don't keep it on my person but in my carry on.
