Metallurgist Question Mete or Kevin , Anyone?

A good friend of mine ( timber guy ) asked me if I could help him locate an American equivalent steel that is comparable to Hard Ox 500 (pretty sure a Swedish Product). Actually if anyone knows of a similar steel that is used in the same applications that would be better. Any information (I know I'm being vague in my descriptions here) would be appreciated!

A firewood processor . The Knife actually cuts the wood to length. It is a 34"-36" dia. x 1/4" plate with an offset hole . The Knife turns at about 100 RPM
