Metalurgical help please.

Who can tell me what Stess Proof steel is made of and is it usable for knifemaking? Thanks for any help

Stress Proof steel is a trade name of Niagara LaSalle Co and is made from 1144 steel. While this can be heat treated it contains high amounts of sulphur as it is a free machining grade. The sulphur makes it unsuitable for knives....And it's spelled metallurgical !!
