Can one of you guys do me a favor??

I have to take my honey to the med. center on Tuesday.Lots of pre-test meds so travel will have to be either Monday morning or Tuesday morning. I'd rather go Tuesday [for obvious reasons] but travel this time a year can be kinda hard thru there. Can one of you guys give me an accurate, on the spot weather forcast/travel report as of Sunday night/early Monday morning? Just don't want to wait 'till Tuesday and drive into 2' of lake effect snow, if ya know what I mean.:(

My honey & I would GREATLY appreciate any info you can provide!!

Yup. 3 hours in the truck with a nervous lady's going to be stressful enough so weather is definately a concern. She has to take a lot of stuff Monday afternoon that will make travel impossible. We have to either go early Monday and settle in for the night or get over the affects here and travel real early Tuesday. It all depends on the weather.:( Not really looking forward to this!

Sorry Mete, I was thinking you were right in Syracuse. I'm sorry about the neighbors,too.:confused: [kidding Sam :D] Thanks, Sam, for speaking up. I forgot you were down that way.

So, basicly, I'm looking for the best travel day based on your weather forcast and current conditions. Our news covers that area somewhat but not as well as 'being there'. Any recommendation would realy be appreciated!!

Thanks for the wishes George and Stacy. I fear they're going to cut'er up some more. It would be a lot easier if I was sure it was going to help. Keep getting promises but not seeing much results. Just do the best we can!!

I have lived in Syracuse ! You have to define exactly where you are traveling ,start point and finish.Too many variations through the state. Not unusual for the NYS Thruway to close down for a big winter storm between Buffalo and Syracuse due to lake effect storms. There are lots of sources for weather info beyond local media.Weather maps can be seen on the computer and there are official places to call also [NYSP or other agencies].The Thruway usually gets plowed before side roads.
 
Mete, We're 2 hours north of Watertown. We had family in Fulton so we've made this trip hundreds of times. Even after checking all sources [computer & state police] we have had a couple 'bad trips'. One trip,we were told 'all clear', but spent 2 hours in a cafe' just south of Watertown, drinking coffee. Could not see past the hood, could'nt tell what was road and what was not. 3 hour trip turned into 8. So,of course,these are the first things that come to her mind. There's no reasoning with a stressed and emotional woman [not this one,anyhow!]. I'm just trying to arm myself with all the info I can get.;)

Turns out, we have no choice. Supposed to have an info pack in the mail with instructions,waivers and other paperwork from the specialist. It's not here yet. By the time we get Monday's mail, she'll already be taking the pre-test meds so Tuesday will be travel day! Hope the weather co-operates!:(

Fred,Will,thanks for the thoughts and wishes! She's had this test locally about every 3-6 months for the past 5 years. It's the results this time that is the concern. She just spent a week in the hospital and her Dr. found some pre-cancer cells. After losing a kidney in '99 with a cancer tumor, she's definately 'high risk', so I'm sure surgery's comming. I just don't know if we'll be home Tuesday night or if I'll be in a waiting room in Syracuse. Not being able to make a plan makes it worse!!

Thanks again,Page. Just read that to my honey & told her 'that's from Page, standing in Syracuse!'. Lake affect thru Tug Hill could be some concern but going to leave plenty of travel time. Local weather says that area may get bad. Could'nt just rain all day like it did yesterday.:(
