Meteor shower this weekend

A few years ago, it happened while I was on a fishing trip, far from the lights of the city.

This is truly amazing.
 
Don't watch it, you will go blind like from the book and movie "day of the triffids" then huge man eating plants will kill you all!
 
I've been seeing them all week, and I wasn't even looking for them. In fact, I was actually thinking about posting a thread about any possible meteor showers in the PNW tonight as I saw another one on the way home from work.

Good to hear that there are actually meteors expected and this isn't an alien invasion. I'll put the guns away now.
 
We were out in the back yard for about an hour around midnight last night. I counted eight shooting stars. My youngest had never seen one, so it was a special treat for him.

Wanted to go out last night with the boys, but was too cloudy. Supposed to clear up this evening though, so we're packing a thermos and a couple of sleeping bags - just lie down in a field and gaze.

Always suspected the government were were a box of vegetables....
 
Started watching abt 2AM last night, didn't count the little ones of a half second or so but saw 4 that lasted for almost 2 sec. Was almost too comfortable in the lawn chair & started nodding off abt 4AM so I went back inside.
