////have just updated the picture

Haven't been here for a long...

The picture have justy been made for the Russian Knifemakers Guild Catalog.
The blade is made of wootz laminated by meteorite iron (no joke!) by Ilya Kulikov, one of the best Russian knifemakers.
The knife ie really fantastic!

Three more knives coming soon :)

A few American and South African custom knife makers have used meteorite in their knives, usually as bolsters. I think it looks cool.

EXCEPTIONAL work on that. The handle carving and butt cap are creative and very well done.

Meteorite is interesting material. It looks very good on the blade.

Thanks for posting it,
Peter

It's beautiful! Cool materials, nice carving, and great lines. That's a top notch photo too!

Had to come back for another look. I'd love to see the pattern in the wootz. Was a watered (dendritic) pattern preserved through the forge welding process? I can see that there IS a pattern.. but curious if it a traditional wootz pattern. I'm assuming it is since you are calling 'wootz'.

Multiple talents coming together to create a very special knife and cool steel too. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
Is the handle bone?

Looks great.

I see a Viking influence - small wonder, as they headed East and went up the rivers for trade.
