Can someone here who is knowledable in math/metric conversions tell this old man how many cubic inches there are in a liter? Thanks in advance.

I used to convert an engines ci's into liters for auto shop class. There is a formula for figuring out how many ci's are in a liter.

If you know the basics you can figure it out.

1 inch = approx 2.54 centimeters

If 1 inch is 2.54 centimeters then 1 cubic inch is (2.54)3 = approx. 16.4 cubic centimeters

1000 cubic centimeters/16.4 cubic centimeters = approx. 61 cubic inches in a liter.

My mind is fuzzy on it. I think I have it right.

Simply type the conversion you need into the Google window, e.g:

"convert 27.2 cubic inches to litres"

Result: "27.2 (cubic inches) = 0.445728141 litres
