I just purchased a small Meryerco neck knife for only 10.00. It seems to be a solid little knife with the blade length and design that I like. Can anyone tell me anything about this company and its quality of knives. Thanks.

Hi Willdone, they are china manufacture so cheap and cheerful.I have a mini machette, tactical survival knife, machax machette and also a sharpening device by them.I don't know about your neck knife but the four previously mentioned are designed by Blackie Collins who i am lead to believe is a rated designer. The materials i would imagine 420j2, china made are reflected in the low cost.I find them good for what i use them for and have no complaints, you could buy better but if you find the price right and usage even satisfactory then i would say a good buy.The reason i bought them was i liked the looks of them and i wasn' going to break the bank, i'm not dissapointed.

Overall they are very cheap and also poorly made out of sub-premium materials. A little better than a gas station knife, but not by much. I was always surprised to see Blackie Collins name all over them, I wouldn't want my name on those knives. Some of the designs are nice. I always thought the Paradox was an interesting and useful tool.

If it's a Chinese made one, then I agree with everyone else. I bought a Chinese made Meyerco awhile back & really didn't like it.

I do have a Blackie Collins Meyerco that's made in Seki City, Japan, & it's a pretty decent knife. Blade steel is AUS 8 & it's worked well for the several years that I've had it & I'm not the first owner (I believe he had it for a couple yrs too).

It does amaze me that a person with Mr. Collins credentials would allow/put his name on such junk.

I picked up a Blackie Collins Meyerco, at a gun show, a few years back. I really liked the ergonomics and the spring assist was also nice. The blade would sharpen up nice but didn't stay that was long. The lock button
was the worst part of the knife. It was real easy to press with the hand during use.

I didn't expect too much from a $20 knife but it was a good utility cutter.
