I really dont know where else to ask this question but I guess here is just as good as any.

The clip on my Meyerco Speedster broke yesterday and I called Meyerco USA today to see if I could get a new clip for it but the phone number that was included with the knife was disconnected. This is the number I tried: 214-469-8949.

Do any of you know a way to get a hold of Meyerco so I can get a new clip?

Thanks

Matt

Interesting. They claim to have a lifetime warranty, but their site: {www.meyercousa.com} doesn't even list an email address.

In my opinion, their best effort was the Meyerco Tactical in ATS-34 steel back when it was made in Japan. Their assisted opening folders were fun to play with too, but even then they were nowhere near the quality of Kershaw's stuff. Still, with inexpensive folders like the Speedster and Bolt Action, their quality was much better than the crap they're putting out nowadays. Now that they're made in China, their quality standards went down the toilet. :barf:

My brother and I both got Gerber Bolt Actions. Nice knives, holding up forever. Too bad Meyerco couldn't keep up the quality. But Blackie Collins always has great ideas and doesn't push the manufacturer on quality the way other custom designers do.

Esav, I've always wondered why a man with so many unique and creative design ideas never got hooked up with a strong, top shelf production company like Spyderco or BM, or even CRKT. I had a Meyerco Bolt Action that I loved, but lost. I also have an original Speedster (the lockback that came in the car tin) in ATS-34 that I like, but I don't like Blackie's handle ergos. He makes them too curved for my taste.

I guess the Gerber Bolt was a big hit, but Gerber is not known as being terribly innovative, except for the original LST. It's kind of like seeing a great singer backed up by a bad band, y'know?

It looks like a new website. The old one was something like Meyerco/Camp USA. Maybe in a week or so they'll have better information available to help.
I agree that a "Forever" warranty isn't much use if you can't contact someone for ASSISTANCE (pun intended). :(

I had a Gerber 350 EZ out until I lost it then I bought the old school Speedster with the lockback and AUS-8 steel and ive had it for 3 years. Unfortunately a warranty ,like you said, isnt much good if you cant get a hold of the manufacture. I would just go out and buy a new one but they dont make them anymore, well at least not the good model of the speedsters.

I've never been to wild with kershaws stuff because they used liner locks. I've had way too many liner locks fail and never a lock back fail. it seems that regardless of the manufacture liner locks just arent quite good enough to keep a blade locked in place.

Bringing this to the top.....

The phone number for Meyerco is (214) 46SEVEN- 8949.....467-8949.
I called and talked to Dan Clark....he was very helpful and I'm sure they will send a clip.

Good luck,

Bill
