I have been on a gentlemen’s folder kick lately.
Folders recently purchased have included a Mcusta Tsuchi, Fallkniven P folder, BM 480-1 Shoki, Spyderco Balance, and an Al Mar mini SERE.
The Manbug G-10 is my absolute favorite of all these.
Every one of the aforementioned gents knives is very nice. The Japanese are making some excellent knives right now. (The BM isn’t made in Seki, but is still a quality piece.) The engineering, F&F and overall feel of these folders is very high. A few models don’t have pocket clips, but all can be opened one handed and are very classy and sheeple friendly.
The Manbug G-10 isn’t inexpensive, but it is so good that I believe it warrants the price of admission. No buyer’s remorse here, something I can’t always say about many other “expensive” knives I’ve bought.
There have been a few knives that I have given away, or sold, that I liked so much that I bought them again. . The Al Mar mini SERE is one of those knives, this is my second one, a true gent-tac if there ever was one. I gave my last one to a friend. I missed it so much that I re-bought it.
The Manbug G-10 is definitely one of those folders I would buy again if something happened to this one.
There is something about a small, heavy, solid little folder that just exudes quality. The G-10 MB is that kind of folder.
Great, great little knife. Congrats to Sal and Spyderco for offering this model.
