All very nice . Tastefully and respectfully done. For some reason I too am drawn to the blades with exposed tangs . I like the way the tang recurves away from the radius of the blade .Kinda a Yin-Yang thing . It looks like using the blade would force the tang into the handle . Well duh, I know . It does seem like there is an advantage .

Otherwise, Comrade Feinstein might be watching you build your 'arsenal'. Nice collection by the way.

I'd hate to have to dust all that stuff . . . Noah Zark

Me too. I don't think Jay Leno washes all his cars without help. But us little guys maintain our own posessions. Life is good. It is good to care enough about something, to know and take care of it. And when others see what you have on your walls, more than weapons or even a collection, they know here is someone who gives a damn. About what? About anything. In today's society of uncaring, not bothereing, who me mans ??, a person who cares and does is a light.

A fine collection, JM. Sharp decor.... OW!

*Many* women might be put off by it, though.

The Buddhas are very nice. We should have a "show us where you send up smoke" thread...

Who made the really large khukuri?

Nice stuff, and thanks.

I'd post a few pics of my stuff but that would mean cleaning up the pile of clothes on the floor. :o

Thanks for taking the time to take those photos and share them with us.

Quite a few pointy objects you have there, buddy,........ very nice! :)

In my home, the blending of my wife's tastes and my own were something that we at first struggled with a bit. Not because we could not agree on what we wanted, since we had early on agreed that there would obviously be things that she liked, things that I liked, and things that we both liked. The problem really developed as our possessions grew and we could not figure out how to blend them together.
For a while we tried the method of her being responsible for decorating one room, while I would be responsible for another, and so on. This worked okay, "for a while", but we then decided that we "wanted" to blend our likes together in our living spaces (while always leaving the kids to do "their" own room designing).

For my wife and I it meant that furniture, guns, porcelain, knives, glass, swords (both functional and decorative only), lamps, cannons, clocks, pictures, and whatever else we owned, were now to be well mixed in together (for a true eclectic look).

After trying it, we found that we both liked it, finding the overall look pretty unique.

The following is our living room area, with the look being very similar in theme throughout our home, simply a mix of our personalities (including some of our overlapping tastes).

Thank you.

As you probably know, those are Phillipine Talibong a Christian rather than Moro Islamic favorite. They have a grind on one side only and are said to stab like a keris and slash like a barong ;)

The glue on these had dried out and I was going to epoxy them in. As I recall there is one with no scabbard nor handle that I was going to try to make a bolster, handle and sheith for - "IT'S ON MY LIST!"

Oh, and Kevin the grey, I'm not ignoring you, but sombody beat you with ... er ... to it. :)

Thanks, Noah.

Dust? I'm more worried about oiling...

Thank you, Munk.

Somehow you remind me with your last sentence of a time when a group of chinese 'got me'. I was learning mandrin at the time and these guys were mainly from Hong Kong.

ME: (In mandrin) I am good.
THEM: That's right.
ME: (In mandrin) He is good.
THEM: (nudging each other) That's right.
ME: (in mandrin) We are good.
THEM: (giggling) You two are good WHAT??!? (laughing)

Nice stuff. But let me guess, you don't have any young children running around? All those sharp and pointy things would be awfully tempting to little hands.

Thanks. Mike <groan>.

I think "*Many*" is an underestimate.

That's a great idea. I remember Satori with a photo of about 100 joss sticks burning.

Description from Swords of Honor, Inc: Made by the government contractor Windlass Steelcrafts. Hand forged from high carbon steel. Each comes with regulation sheath. Beheads water buffaloes with a single stroke for the traditional Gurkha sacred ceremony. Very scarce! Only one issued to each Gurkha Regiment in India. Specially carved native hardwood handle. Polished steel blade is a staggering 3/8" thick and more than 2 1/2 feet long. Weighs 4 lbs. 6 oz.

One does not so much swing it as allow it to fall ;)

ROFLMAF
I'm sure we all would like to see it.
It would be a mitsva. My wife, who is a fan of yours, would feel better about herself.
Good dharma, BruiseLeee.
