OK, I am very aware that I asked this before and sorta got an answer. But I still don't quite get how to make Micarta, and I'd really like to try this. Well, part of reason why is that I would like camouflage micarta, and though I've never seen this for sale anywhere, it seems that this would be easy and relatively cheap to make. I pick up cheap used camouflage gear at surplus store all the time. MIght be a little faded, but still think it would make good micarta and give you and interesting pattern. Especially as sanding it down would get to other layers and increase camouflage breakup effect even more(course, not that this is a huge concern on a knife handle, but ya know what I mean. :) still look cool).

Anyways, if someone could give a step by step tutorial, or point me to one, as I haven't been able to find one, I would greatly appreciate it. And any tips too. Like been told that you use(or can use), fiberglass resin, and I seem to grasp that you have to apply pressure to the stuff while it's setting. One thing I seem to be missing is how you can apply pressure to it without it sticking to the vice or whatever you use. Is there a material for fiberglass resin like there is for bedding of gun stocks that you can paint on parts of the gun so they don't stick to the resin?

Anyways, sure I'm missing things here, so if anyone could help me out, or point me in right direction, would greatly appreciate it.

And didn't manage to stick with my plan of finishing books before I grind, drawing up more blades today and starting to grind again. ;) But I did at least make it through two out of three.
