Ok, I was just looking at the data base and realized how much I like the look of the BK11 with micarta scales. Not looking for prices here as I don't want anyone getting an infraction for deal spotting. I just want to know where you guys get these scales? What about the new micarta scales for the BK2?

Do you mean who gets them, or where do we get them from?

I get them. As to where you can get them:

I don't think it's deal spotting to simply ask for a source or sources.
I am considering a San Mai BK-11 and wouldn't mind some micarta on that one.
I'm curious too. Who sells the small micarta scales?

I buy all my Becker stuff at Tomars Kabars. My ESEE stuff comes from Newgraham. Other than than, its whatever goggle can provide. Chestnut has some great stuff and some stuff, that ain't exactly "factory" but real damn cool anyway.

Tomars ships fast, has a good stock, and you get a new catalog, and some stickers. Chestnut, you can get multi colors styles and custom stuff as well as the factory stuff.

Good luck, may the micarta gods smile upon thee.

Thanks man, that's what I was looking for was some history.

Yeah, you can sometimes find some strange stuff at Chestnut Ridge. That's where I got most of my old-school Camillus micarta back in the day.

Thank you, now that was much more helpful !

Guyon will be banned for 3 months for that ;)

snerk :)

sqoon's answer was good though. teaches radical self reliance. now, i do understand wanting to know who the cool kids buy stuff from, and who the cool dearers are to. that's fair, but to a slight extend, the modly mods can't show too much favoritism, we supposed to be neutral, even with those CASES of micarta littering up the place ;)

As long as I'm back in time for the Tweeners. :D
FWIW, there was no bias in my post.
I was just reporting on an old post that appeared in this subforum. :foot:
Please don't shoot the messenger! :p

Not so much looking for cool...didn't really care if the list was fifteen dealers deep, just as long as they were all trustworthy

Though I do like to support the ones who support this site as much as possible.

Last years bad experience with an on-line knife dealer taught me that asking before I buy can save a lot of hassle and time spent getting my money back.

well, that's why BF has whine and cheese, pirate's cove, and good,bad,ugly... you can search on a name you're wondering about, and get lots of intel.

as a general rule of thumb, if you don't know a username, you clicky their name, and find out MOAR - esp if you are buying/selling/trading. 3 posts? potential trouble. name shows up in the good/ugly - useful, they've been banned? well...

same for the dealers, vendors, makers, movers... esp if they have a presence here, but google too, and see what reviews say. even youtube - people these days are more willing to fire off a video than write stuff sometimes. you'll learn a lot. many dealers are great, a few are not.

reputation is everything in this hobby and business. you mess with someone, people will know right quick :)

iTrader has diminished Feedback somewhat. If the vendor doesn't operate as a dealer at BFC, it's less likely to get good feedback. iTrader is set up to encourage internal feedback only. Just something I've noticed since it was instituted. I know we should support those who support the site, but that's not always possible.

ditto on tomarskabars.com for micarta scales. chestnut ridge also carries kydex sheath for some of the beckers now. i'm tempted to get the bk-9 one.

I got mine from New Graham last week. Took them for test spin this weekend and really like them. Gives the knife a whole new feel, almost custom
